British Saint Saviour to appear at Rock Café in Prague!

Prague, June 12 – British electro-pop singer and songwriter, Becky Jones, performing under stage name Saint Saviour is coming to Prague to introduce her current work. She will star at Rock Café on Friday, July 13 together with other local guests.

Saint Saviour’s stage name came into being when she moved to London in 2003. During her everyday run Jones would pass “St. Saviour Dock“ sign. Jones says: “It’s got a nice feel to it so... I nicked it!“ Saint Saviour played a lot alongside many electronic formations, such as RGBs, The Hurts or Groove Armada, before she started her solo career. Her voice is often compared to those of Sinéad O’Connor, Kate Bush or Elisabeth Fraser.

“Her music is dynamic, experimental and easy to listen to – whole appearance and the aura of Saint Saviour give her immense magnetic strength. We’re very honored to welcome here a musician with such a wonderful voice!” said one of the show’s organizers.

Saint Saviour recently released her second EP with an interesting title, SUUKEI(a Japanese kanji symbol for reverence). Jones found this symbol in one of the books she was selling for the Tsunami-appeal for Japan and used it for her EP, because “The songs on the EP are all about revering something or someone,” said Jones. Her works include both original compositions and covers that are very positively assessed by the critics. One of Saint Saviour’s songs, This Ain’t no Hymn, was used in the tnew Gerard Naranjo thriller Miss Bala.
