The introductory ceremonial concert of Prague’s international music festival “Czech Touches of Music” is being held again this year in cooperation with Prague Castle Administration. The subtitle of the concert, “Closeness of Souls”, implies that the programme of the evening focuses entirely on the composers who knew each other and whose joint destiny and work went into the spirit of respect and humanistic ideals. It is known that Johannes Brahms selflessly admired Antonín Dvořák. Not only this – he created a way for him to the renowned publisher Simrock, which greatly improved Dvořák’s financial situation. The wife of the great composer Robert Schumann was not only a piano virtuoso, but also a remarkable woman. After her husband was inflicted by a serious disease, both Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák did not hesitate to help her and the ill composer. This concert is also being held on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the Czech violin virtuoso, Václav Hudeček.
