This concert by the star vocalist Jonas Kaufmann will take place on Sunday 8 January 2012 at the Municipal House in Prague. The charismatic vocalist is returning to Prague with a new programme covering the best-known operatic arias and songs.
Around the world, Jonas Kaufmann is acclaimed as one of the most important contemporary vocalists. Born in Munch, he is considered to be one of the greatest opera stars in the world, and the international press refers to him as the finest tenor of the current time. He has won many prestigious music awards, and critics praise the emotive range of his singing, as Kaufmann’s rich tenor can master dark, dramatic passages as easily as romantic, dreamy pieces and explosive, passionate works.
Jonas Kaufmann’s performances at the world’s leading opera houses and concert halls have received wild ovations from audiences and the highest praise from critics.
Jonas Kaufmann is now the most sought-after tenor in the world and this year he has sung in critically acclaimed concerts in Europe and the United States, and has been celebrated for his performances in leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in London, the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan and opera houses in Munich, Valencia and Zurich.
