A concert by the Talich Chamber Orchestra, entitled “The Gypsy Melodies”, will be an exceptional event. The orchestra, now ranked among the most prestigious ensembles on the Czech scene and abroad, will be joined by a cimbalom player, Marco Pillo, and his accompanying band with Marco Balog, who has adapted many songs and compositions for the concert. They will take us through the world of music inspired by the work of gypsies. Besides the famous Gypsy Melodies by Pablo de Sarasate and Romanian Folk Dances by Béla Bartók, you will hear a Gypsy folk song “Leave Me Alone, Boy” or “Fantasia for Cimbalom” by Tony Iordache. The concert will be conducted by Jan Talich Jr., the great-grand cousin of the legendary Czech conductor Václav Talich. Jan Talich will also perform as a solo violinist.
